About Gangwisch Dental Group, LLC.

Practice Philosophy

Our office is a preventation-oriented practice where we teach you how to care for your teeth so that you may keep them in healthy condition for a lifetime. Our goal is to provide the highest quality dental treatment with the least amount of discomfort and as economically as possible.

On your first visit, we will give you a thorough examination of your teeth and gums, and a complete oral cancer check-up. Any necessary x-rays will be taken at this time to supplement the visual exam in order to detect dental disease before any extensive damage has occurred. A lead apron is used routinely to protect you against any stray x-radiation. During this same appointment, your teeth will be thoroughly cleaned of hard and soft deposits as a deterrent to gum disease, to freshen the breath, and to give you a cleaner smile. Children up to age 18 will have fluoride treatment included with their cleaning to help reduce further tooth decay. As a service to our patients, we will contact you at six-month intervals for your regular check-up and cleaning appointment. These appointments are very important in that any disease processes that have occurred in the last six months can be detected early, and this greatly reduces the overall cost of dental treatment.

The Fearful Patient

We place a special emphasis on treating patients who are apprehensive about dental treatment. With modern pain control techniques, including nitrous oxide and conscious sedation, fear of the dentist is now a thing of the past.

Children

We welcome children as patients. Good preventive care started early will lessen the need for unpleasant dental procedures, since decay can be prevented with education and proper home care. We ask that parents please remain in the reception room while their child is being treated. It is our experience that children are much more responsive to dental care without their parents present. The doctors will be very happy to discuss your child's oral condition and answer any questions afterwards.

Sterilization & Disinfection

We stricly follow the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines on sterilization. Our sterilizers are monitored weekly by The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!). We ensure that every precaution is taken to make your visits to our office safe.

What is a board certified dentist?

The achievement of board certification is the culmination of years of rigorous study and testing in all aspects of general dentistry. The board certification process involves taking a written examination that must demonstrate knowledge in all aspects of dentistry. Then, the candidate must complete an arduous oral examination covering all specialties of dentistry and present actual cases performed by the candidate.
