This patient is congenitally missing his lateral incisors, that is, he was born without the two teeth that are normally located next to the front teeth.  Through the use of orthodontic appliances, we brought the canines (eye teeth) back and closed the gap between the front teeth to make enough room for artificial teeth.  Then, bridgework was prepared and cemented in permanently.
