Desensitization

As we age, our gums tend to recede. Once this recession has gone past the enamel surface, the inner layer called the dentin will be exposed. This is the live part of the tooth and can become very sensitive to cold, sweets, or tooth brushing. At Gangwisch Dental Group, we can apply desensitizing resins to these exposed areas. Although these treatments are not permanent, they can give many months of relief from sensitivity.

Apprehensive Patient?

We place a special emphasis on treating patients who are apprehensive about dental treatment. Using modern pain control techniques, including nitrous oxide and conscious sedation, fear of the dentist is now a thing of the past.

The board certification process involves taking a written examination that must demonstrate knowledge in all aspects of dentistry. Then, the candidate must complete an arduous oral examination covering all specialties of dentistry and present actual cases performed by the candidate.
